How to install Office / Visio / Project 2019 on PC or Office Home Business / Student on Mac

The following article provides you information on how to install Microsoft Office 2019 / Microsoft Visio 2019  / Microsoft Project 2019 as a standalone product.

 

 

The video above shows you the changes since Office was launched many moons ago. Gone are the days or searching for a dvd drive or seeking a usb flash drive. We are now in 2020 and the way Microsoft Office 2019 installs is different as you now have your Office Product saved to your Microsoft Account which has the following benefits:

So, seeing as most of the purchases and installations in this digital age refer to digital licenses. The instructions below are valid for:  Office Professional Plus 2019, Office 2019 Professional, Office 2019 Home & Business, Office 2019 Home & Student, and Office 2019 Standard editions. Microsoft Visio / Project 2019 Editions: Visio 2019 Professional and  Visio 2019 Professional and also Project 2019 Professional and Project 2019 Standard. The same instructions apply to 365 editions of office. 

 

Minimum Hardware and Software Requirements  to install Office / Project  / Visio 2019:

Microsoft Office / Visio / Project 2019 will install on the following minimum hardware requirements for Windows10 are reccommended:

  • CPU/Processor 1.6 gigahertz or faster. 2 core processor 
  • Memory 2GB for 32 bit or 4GB recommended
  • Hard disk 8GB minimum space
  • Display 1280 x 768 screen resolution
  • Graphics DirectX 9 or later
  • Operating system Windows 10 (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education, LTSB, LTSC) Windows Server 2019. Windows 10 S needs to be upgraded to install Office 2019.

In general if your PC is running Windows 10  or purchased in the last 5 years - then you are fully compatible. 4GB hard drive space is needed but we reccommend 8gb as a minimum.

Office 2019 Home & Student includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Office 2019 Home & Business includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook

Office 2019 Professional includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and others

Office 2019 Professional Plus inlcudes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and others

 

Redeem, Download and Installation Procedure for Office 2019 on PC

  1. Confirm your PC omeets the Office 2019 system requirements.

  2. Check to see if your PC is preloaded with Office or if you have a different variation of the same Office installed:

    1. Click the Windows Start menu and then click All Programs. If you see Office 2013, Office 2016, Office 2019 or Office 365, a version of Office is preloaded. If you have multiple Office's installed on your system your OLD (or the first installed) office will be set as the default programs for office applications. You can still have it installed but we advise against it. When you uninstall Office  - none of your documents, files or folders are deleted - only the microsoft applications are erased. We highly reccommend you back up Outlook by opening Outlook, clicking file and export a backup (options will be present). In most cases when you restart the outlook file will automatically be found once the new install has taken place.

    2. Uninstall your old office suite then run this official uninstallation tool to completely wipe all fragments of office from your system here.

    3. Restart your system. DO not skip this step.

  3. Go to Office's official site to begin the install process. Click to Office.com/setup then Create an account or sign in with any email address.

  4. Redeem your product license key by entering it into the boxes on the redeem page. This should be found in your email provided by us after purchase.

  5. Choose your country and language. Confirm your submissions and click NEXT

  6. Find your product in your wallet then CLICK install.

  7. You will then proceed to download an office setup file. Double click and run this file to begin the download and installation.

  8. An ORANGE window should appear followed by a WHITE window which will then proceed to download and install your Office product in the background.

 

Your install is finished when you see the phrase, "You're all set! Office is installed now" and an animation plays to show you where to find Office applications on your computer. Select Close.

Office is installed now. Select Close

 

You have now successfully installed Microsoft Office.

Now you can open up WORD 2019 / VISIO 2019 / PROJECT 2019. Follow the prompts to activate if prompted and you can begin to set up your product. Installation is complete.

You can click on FILE and ACCOUNT. Here you will see the email used to hold your license. This is only for activation purposes. You can choose to sign in the top left of this window for  cloud services.

Microsoft Office  2019 Home & Business or Home & Student for an Apple Mac will install with following minimum hardware requirements :

  • Device Apple Macbook/Macintosh. Ipad is not supported
  • CPU/Processor Intel processor
  • Memory  4GB minimum
  • Hard disk 10GB minimum space
  • Display1280 x 800 screen resolution
  • Operating system Office for Mac is supported on the three most recent versions of macOS. Any new release will be compatible. Currently Office 2019 (both editions) are only compatible on MacOS X 10.15 Catalina, 10.14 Mojave, 10.13 High Sierra.
  • IOS is not supported therefor Ipads are not compatible.

 

Office 2019 Home & Student for Mac includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Redeem,  Download and Install Procedure for Office 2019 on Apple Mac

  1. Confirm your Apple Device (Macintosh desktop or macbook air / pro or equivalent) meets the Office 2019 system requirements.

  2. Check to see if your MAC is has Office installed.

    1. Click Applications at the top menu. Check the programs for Microsoft Applications. 

    2. Right click and move to trash. Repeat for every Microsoft application. Once you have selected all the programs. Hover above the trash can and empty trash.

    3. Restart your system. DO not skip this step.

  3. Go to Office's official site to begin the install process. Click to Office.com/setup then Create an account or sign in with any email address.

  4. Redeem your product license key by entering it into the boxes on the redeem page. This should be found in your email provided by us after purchase.

  5. Choose your country and language. Confirm your submissions and click NEXT

  6. Find your product in your wallet then CLICK install.

  7. You will then proceed to download an office setup file. Double click and run this file to begin the download and installation.

  8. Follow the on screen prompts. Let the installation complete. Wait for confirmation.

 

Your install is finished. Click to close. Open word and on the bottom left you can activate. Use the same email to activate and your all set. You can now fully utilise Office for Mac. Have fun!
